Butterfly show-girls fluttered down the Jean Paul Gaultier catwalk in Paris, as the French designer transformed his haute couture gowns into delicate ethereal creations with silky wings in multicolored hues. The collections effect was both sultry and mystifying. American apparel mannequins now sporting full 70’s style bush. As of this morning, the storefront at East Houston location in New York features a trio of mannequins in transparent white underwear, exposing their unkempt bikini lines and stopping window shoppers. Shoppers have had mixed reactions to the window display, with some agreeing that it’s a positive move for feminism and while others are totally grossed out.
